Restaurant QR Codes

QR codes are useful because they allow businesses to interact with customers. QR codes are two-dimensional barcodes that can be scanned by smartphones with QR code reader applications. QR codes can contain all types of information including a link to a website, contact information, event information, videos, social media profiles, and more. Restaurant QR codes can be used in many different ways. Read below to find out what restaurants can do with QR codes.

  1. History of the Restaurant: Every restaurant has a story and many times newspaper clippings mentioning the restaurant are hung up on the walls but creating a QR code that leads to a video is interesting to customers. The video can highlight the history of the restaurant and turn customers into regular guests.
  2. Videos of Dishes: Most restaurants will have specials or will highlight a few unique menu items. Guests would be interested to scan a QR code that leads to a video showing how the dish is prepared. These QR codes can even be inserted on menus.
  3. Executive Chef Interviews: Showcase the talents of an executive chef with a video. Include information on their background, and experiences. Customers are interested in knowing about the people preparing their food.
  4. Nutrition Facts: Many people are very health conscious and others have to be careful of allergies. Allow guests to scan QR codes off the menu to obtain nutrition facts about the different dishes being served.
  5. Coupons & Discounts: Paper coupons are hard to keep track of but customers are more likely to return to an establishment if they are given a reason to do so. Link a QR code to a web page that has some type of coupon or discount.
  6. Takeout Menus, Signs, Etc.: QR codes can be printed on virtually any material. Place QR codes on takeout menus or signs to drive customers to your website, provide them with coupons or discounts, and more.
  7. Loyalty Program: QR codes have the capability to be encoded to contain a ready to send text message. Customers can scan a QR code to join a loyalty program and receive coupons and updates.
  8. Specials: Most restaurants have a list of daily menu specials. Use QR codes to direct potential guests to your website where they can find information on daily specials and more.
  9. Takeout Menu: The more customers a restaurant can attract, the more successful it will be. Attract takeout customers by allowing them to scan a QR code and easily pull up a takeout menu on their smartphones.
  10. Contact Information: Don’t lose out on a potential customer because they can’t figure out how to contact you. Use QR codes to direct customers to all of your contact information.
